Opening Reception and Live Critique
An Opening Reception will be held on April 11 from 2-4 p.m., providing an opportunity to meet participating artists and celebrate their work.
A live critique at 3 p.m. will offer attendees insight into the juried pieces, giving a deeper understanding of the techniques, composition and creative decisions behind the artwork.
A Showcase of Local Talent
This annual show is more than an exhibit. It serves as a juried competition with awards and acts as a preliminary for the Association of Nebraska Art Clubs (ANAC) statewide exhibit. Entries are judged according to ANAC guidelines and only current CAA members are eligible to participate.
The show continues to be an important platform for artists to gain recognition while connecting the community with high-quality visual art.
About Columbus Area Artists
Columbus Area Artists (CAA) is a local organization dedicated to supporting and connecting artists in the region. The group meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. with locations varying between Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottery Place and other creative spaces. Updates and member communication are shared through their Facebook page.
Throughout the year, CAA provides opportunities for artists to grow and collaborate, including:
- Paint days at inspiring outdoor or community locations
- Annual workshops led by out-of-town professional instructors
- Networking and sharing opportunities among members
Membership dues are $30 annually, with a portion supporting both local programming and the statewide ANAC organization. Members also have access to ANAC's annual conference, which includes workshops and a juried exhibition.
